Halo is an innovative hybrid fractional laser that can drastically improve sun damaged, dull, and aging skin without the downtime associated with traditional laser resurfacing procedures. The first of its kind, Halo is a hybrid fractional laser that combines deeper dermal rejuvenation with epidermal renewal by delivering pulses of ablative and non-ablative energy to the skin. The ablative energy precisely removes damage in the skin’s upper layers while the non-ablative energy penetrates deeper to target specific vessels, deep dermal pigment and stimulate collagen production.

The Procedure
Thirty minutes to an hour before your treatment, a topical numbing cream will be applied to your skin to reduce any discomfort during your treatment. To achieve optimal results, the treatment area is measured using motion tracking technology to ensure the area is treated evenly. Many patients describe the treatment as a feeling of heat with occasional prickling sensations, but generally comfortable. Treatment typically takes 20 minutes to 45 minutes, depending on the number and size of the areas being treated. With deeper treatment levels, you will continue to experience a warm skin sensation for about 30 minutes to an hour after treatment.
Post Treatment
Your skin may feel hot immediately after treatment, this may be relieved using our Zimmer cooling system and ice packs following treatment. A post laser healing cream will be applied to your skin which you can take home and continue applying over the next few days.
Patients may experience some swelling soon after their treatment. Darkening of the skin will occur between day two and three after treatment, leaving the skin looking more bronzed with black flecks similar to coffee grounds. At days three to five post treatment the skin peels revealing your new skin beneath. There may be some variation in individual responses to the treatment.
A follow up appointment will be made for about a 1 week after your treatment and is included as part of your treatment package. This allows us to provide you with the best post-treatment care possible. For more information on post treatment anticipations and care please click here.
Results
You will see initial results between two and five days after your Halo treatment and your skin will continue to improve over time. Most patients see the greatest improvement in the first two weeks to three weeks, followed by a dermal regeneration phase that continues to improve for months. Final results may take anywhere from 8-12 weeks.
The results of Halo are long term and will last for years, but It’s important to protect your investment in new healthy skin by using UV sunscreen and an appropriate skincare regime. Lasting benefits of Halo can be enhanced and maintained with additional Halo treatments or by combining treatments with Forever Young BBL.
