What is Triton Laser Hair Removal?

The world’s first multi-wavelength workstation, the Triton is the only hair removal option that combines the three most popular wavelengths in one platform, using Fusion Technology, to address up to skin type VI.  The mosaic combination of wavelengths address hair removal at different stages of the hair growth cycle. This means that deep hairs can be treated at the same time as newly emerging follicles. Thus, patients can see greater results in fewer sessions.

Who can be treated with Triton?

Anyone with unwanted hair growth who is looking for a permanent solution may be considered for treatment.

In the past, lasers had to reduce peak power or increase pulse width to reduce the risk for postinflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH) in darker skin. Now with the Triton, higher power and a blend of wavelengths allows hair removal without compromising treatment parameters.  A broader range of patient concerns can be covered with this innovative, safe and effective platform.

This game changing device can treat virtually all hair removal concerns such as:

  • Light hair or skin

  • Dark hair or skin

  • Fine or coarse hair

  • Medium complexion and thickness

  • Stubborn hair

  • Large body areas that require quick treatment times

  • Small sensitive areas

What will happen during the procedure?

Before your laser hair removal treatment, protective eye shields will be placed over your eyes to prevent injury to your corneas or retinas.  The area being treated should be shaved with a new razor 24-48 hours prior to treatment

To protect the outer layers of your skin, a cold gel/sapphire cooling plate is used. This will also make the treatment more effective by facilitating laser light penetration through the skin. A test treatment will first be done prior to treatment by directing a test pulse light to the treatment area. A low-energy laser beam will pass through your skin and be absorbed by the pigment of a percentage of the active-growth hair follicles. This area will be observed to make sure that the settings are correct and to check for any adverse reactions to treatment. One of the greatest benefits of Triton is how efficient it is. Even large areas such as the back and the legs can be completed within 15 minutes.

In addition to the multi wave length technology, the Triton's contact cooling makes the treatments very tolerable.  A slight sunburn-like feel will be noticeable for several days, but there is no downtime.

What can I expect after my appointment?

You will see Triton’s superiority over other laser hair removal devices here. It often takes you 6 to 10 appointments to get 100% clearance on targeted areas with other devices. With Triton, you can get 70-80% clearance with only 3 appointments.  Treatment protocols will range depending on the area but a standard schedule of 4-10 initial treatments every 4-8 weeks can be expected.

How should I prepare for my Triton appointment?

  • Hair should be shaved with a new razor 24-48 hours prior to treatment

  • If the patient has a history of cold sores an anti-viral can be prescribed

  • If there is concern over pigmentary changes, a prophylactic bleaching cream can be used weeks prior to treatment

  • No plucking, waxing or tweezing for 6 weeks prior to and after treatment

  • Photographs

  • Clean treatment area

  • Optional topical anesthetics - may be used by the discretion of the medical practitioner

What Aftercare do I need?

You may experience small red bumps around the hair follicle. This is normal and expected. Do not pick, rub or scratch these until they have cleared. Your skin may be sensitive for several days post procedure.

In addition:

• Apply cold compresses if needed
• Sun block should be used for 3 weeks following the

treatment and 3 weeks preceding the next session.

• Moisturizer may be applied

• Make-up may be applied immediately after facial treatment if skin is intact.

Instructions above are general in nature. Post treatment protocol will be given to patients during consultations and after treatments.
