Cosmetic Injectables: A Spiritual Journey

Updated: Jun 27, 2023

As humans we experience an inherent mind, body, and spirit connection; mental, physical and spiritual work in harmony to form three sides of a triangle – when one side of the triangle changes it affects the others, be it for the negative or positive. For example, who hasn’t experienced losing a few pounds (physical change) and felt happier, more confident, more satisfied in life, and more positive (mental and spiritual change).

For myself, cosmetic injectables have been the ultimate positive transformation. To my pleasant surprise, the subtle shift in my physical appearance has vastly shifted my mental and spiritual health. I like the way I look and never wanted to change it. Fillers and Botox did not change the way I looked, but rather enhanced the beauty that was already there. My friends have remarked that it simply looks like I'm well rested and happy, and that they wouldn't guess I "had work done" - but the real “work done” has been internal.

Without fillers I felt my face was/looked sadder/ angrier/ more tired due to loss of structure and gravity pulling down at loose skin causing it to sag. Furthermore, without Botox I had a permanent scowl (aka resting-Bitch-face). Returning the natural structure to my face with fillers, combined with Botox to soften my "angry" muscles has made me look less tired, less angry and less sad (and thereby younger!). Seeing this in the mirror made me INTERNALIZE these feelings, thereby changing the way I feel.

I suddenly now felt less tired, angrier, and sad - I felt younger.

Changing the way I feel has changed how I interact with the world. Even my most simple interactions have been effected. I have internalized a positive attitude that stemmed from the changes of my physical appearance. I am a positive energy life force, and when I put THAT into the world, I receive it in return.

It is like positive energy feedback loop.

Spiritual guru, Deepak Chopra, says: “if you want joy, give joy to others; if you want love, learn to give love; if you want attention and appreciation, learn to give attention and appreciation […] In fact, the easiest way to get what you want is to help others get what they want.” This is a motto by which I live my life. And I notice the difference when I am feeling and giving off a positivity and kindness – I receive it in spades.

Can fillers alone achieve this for me, can fillers alone be the solution to all my woes?

No, not one thing can do this, and if any thing claims as much, run the other way, but fillers and Botox can be part of a larger picture of mental, spiritual and physical health and well-being.

I'm almost 40 (whatever that means)

People tell me I don't look almost 40 - but more importantly, I don't feel almost 40.

How?

Water, exercise, nutrition, sleep, mediation, love, positivity, and Skin Worthy.
