I want to shake it up and discuss a surprising in-home treatment that rivals some of the results you would only expect to get from your doctors office or medical spa….The ZO Retinol Stimulation Peel.
Having tried every procedure we have to offer, the team at Skin Worthy decided to take on the task of testing this at home treatment to see if it truly gave noteworthy results…Spoiler Alert…IT DID!
So what is the ZO Retinol stimulation Peel and why do we love this treatment?
This is radical treatment tackles aging and photo-damaged skin, reduces wrinkles, tightens pores, hyperpigmentation, fine lines, rough texture, and sagging skin.
The mini peel can be performed over 3 to 4 days and provide mild to moderate exfoliation, but if you really want to maximize your results and stimulate those lower layers of skin (think firming and tightening) we recommend the 5 DAY PEEL!
So how does it work?
Ideally you will have prepped the skin for a few weeks using GSR (cleanse, exfoliate, tone) and standard application of retinol every couple nights. Once skin is prepped the peel begins:
Step 1: Cleanse with ZO cleanser (Hydrating, gently or exfoliating depending on skin type)
Step 2: Daily Power, Recovery creme, or Renewal creme. This will help with hydrating and calming skin.
Step 3: 5-10 pumps of Radical Night Repair Retinol ( I usually apply in 2 parts massaging well and waiting a couple minutes in between to improve absorption)
Step 4: Apply SPF 30+ every day (now and for the rest of your life....seriously sunscreen is your #1 anti-aging secret)
Days 1-6 of the retinol Peel:
Day 1 and 2 Not much reaction, skin looks normal, with a bit of increased redness and sensitivity on day 2.
Day 3 You really notice this peel starting to work you typically feel the skin is tight with some redness and some flaking, at this point the skin feels a bit uncomfortable.
Day 4 Strong exfoliation with very tight red skin. At this point you are feeling uncomfortable but it is tolerable…remember that this is a strong in home treatment that will yield professional in office result
Day 5 Very tight red sensitive skin…you will feel ready for some relief and will be happy the peel is over, but boy will you be happy you did it!
Day 6-8: Hydrate, Hydrate, Hydrate (My Fave product post retinol peel is Zo Hydrating Creme...I've never met a better hydrator for calming and strengthening skin)

Can I do this peel using any 1 % retinol?
We have received the question before asking if you can use any 1% retinol to perform this peel and to be honest I would say no. We truly believe that in order to achieve safe and satisfactory results this peel should be performed using Advanced Radical Night Repair
